From 17 to 19 July 2019 at Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore, be prepared to dive deep into the world of food and drink at RPB Asia – a trade-only event that’s dedicated to everything restaurant, pub and bar. From fanciful drinks crafted by established bartenders to discovering the top entrepreneurs of our time, there’s nothing short of excitement.
A Bar Competition and Plenty of Knowledge Sharing
The main reason why the event can’t be missed by all booze lovers out there. The Bar Awards will be hosting three masterclasses: The Negroni Family Tree, where you can celebrate 100 years of the classic cocktail with Campari Brand Ambassador Symphony Loo, Exploring Whiskies with Matthew Fergusson-Stewart of The Whisky Store, and the art of Cocktails & Modern Storytelling with Tippling Club’s Head Bartender Andrew Loudon.
The National Cocktail Competition will be returning for its 31st edition at RPB Asia this year, and you can expect participants to get ruthless in the field while competing for six categories. Whoever crafts the winning classic cocktail will be representing Singapore at the World Cocktail Championships held in China later in the year. Talk about pressure.
Exploring Whiskies takes place on Wednesday, 17 July 2019, 3pm – 4pm, The Negroni Family Tree and Cocktails & Modern Storytelling on Thursday, 18 July 2019, 2pm – 3pm, and 3pm – 4pm respectively.
SG Food Tech Week
At a time when technology becomes a part of our daily lives, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the food and drinks industry has also been impacted. Learn more about topics such as the recent tech platforms and smart food cities through panel discussions from leading experts, and the actual innovations themselves. Things to look out for include TAMASOMA, which is changing the game of Russian alcohol, and Vintas – Singapore’s first-ever blueberry wine.
While even the epicures may not care too much about packaging, they’re being recognised at the Asia Food Innovation Awards, alongside manufacturing and ingredients. This is the event to attend if you’re looking for anything novel and potentially industry changing on the international stage. The winners will be presented with their awards at the ceremony on Thursday, 18 July.
WGS Gastronomic Adventures
Brought to us by a partnership with the World Gourmet Summit, the Fine Food Live stage is where you’ll get up to speed on all things food – be it seasonal flavours, menu development, or even sustainability in restaurants. Some of the best chefs in the region, such as Executive Chef Matteo Ponti of Italian restaurant Forlino and Corporate Chef Javed Ahamad of Punjab Grill, who will be demonstrating cooking with the increasingly popular Impossible Foods, will be present to share knowledge.
RPB Asia is shining a spotlight on up-and-coming talents in the industry at the Start-Up Village, which is a dedicated zone for companies trading in Singapore for less than 36 months. Brimming with creativity, passion and entrepreneurial flair, this is a must-visit for those looking to discover the latest inventions in the market today, particularly the trade buyers.
